‘WHATEVER IT TAKES’ INITIATIVE – FREE HOME FIRE SAFETY CHECKS

Dear Sir
‘WHATEVER IT TAKES’ INITIATIVE – FREE HOME FIRE SAFETY CHECKS
Can I express my sincere thanks for the publicity given to Cleveland Fire Brigade’s ‘Whatever It Takes’ Initiative, a multi-agency project involving Cleveland Police, Middlesbrough Council and Safer Middlesbrough Partnership offering free Home Fire Safety Checks to local residents in University, Gresham, Ayresome and Middlehaven Wards. At these safety checks the Fire Brigade provides and installs free smoke alarms at the residents’ homes and offer vital safety tips.
I took part in this initiative by having a fire safety check in my home. Following on from the recent article that appeared in the Evening Gazette, I am very pleased to say that, so far, many residents in the University Ward have taken up the offer of a free Home Fire Safety Check by the Fire Brigade.
I intend to further promote this excellent project to the residents of University Ward during my regular walks around the area, in the hope that more people take up this valuable free service.
Yours sincerely
Councillor Habib Rehman
