IMPORTANT TRANSPORT SCRUTINY PANEL MEETING FOOTBALL MATCH DAY PARKING

24 APRIL 2009
MIDDLESBROUGH TOWN HALL,
SPENCER ROOM,
TIME: 10.00AM

An important Transport Scrutiny Panel Meeting has been arranged especially to tackle the FOOTBALL MATCH DAY PARKING problems.

Please come and have your say, tell us your  experience of football match day traffic  congestion and parking problems and what your suggestions are in how we could solve it. Help find a solution for this unnecessary avoidable problem. Please pass this message on to your friends, neighbours and other residents living within University Ward who may be suffering from FOOTBALL MATCH DAY traffic congestion and parking problems.

Its not just “AN INCONVENIENCE ONCE A FORTNIGHT” but a very dangerous condition which is affecting the whole town and  needlessly putting lives in danger and strangling the entire town centre businesses and residents who become trapped  and are forced to shut down because of blocked roads and cars parked bumper-to-bumper, causing obstruction on corners, roundabouts, on  pavements and alleyways, on grassed verges, and in front of driveways. Even emergency    services get trapped putting lives at risk just so that some careless, inconsiderate and thoughtless fans can enjoy a game of football.

Every English town and city is tackling this problem head on by introducing Football Match Day Residents Parking Schemes near their  football grounds. So why can’t we do it here in Middlesbrough? Councillor Habib Rehman is campaigning and fighting on your behalf to get the Residents Parking Scheme extended throughout the entire ward so no-one suffers in future - So please come and show your support by getting involved in this  Residents Parking Consultation process and have your say.
