REGARDING STREET PARKING PROBLEMS

DO YOU WANT TO BE CONSULTED AND INCLUDE YOUR STREET INTO THE RESIDENT PARKING SCHEME?

Middlesbrough Council is planning a major consultation exercise to seek the views and  opinions of local residents and businesses within University Ward to introduce Residents Parking Scheme to tackle the parking problems. But so far, the Council is only considering a small area around Teesside University, covering Linthorpe Road to Park Vale Road and Southfield Road down to Park Road North. Which means that majority of streets within University Ward will be excluded leaving them out of this scheme.

The draft scheme was unveiled at the University Community Council on 27 January 2009 and in the Evening Gazette Newspaper. So far, it does NOT cover Clairville Road, Lothian Road, Angle Street, Bylands Street, Wellesley Road, Breckon Hill Road, Douglas Street,  Saltwells Road, Ely Street and Lytton Street areas which could be seriously affected as they are already heavily congested and suffering from football match, Middlehaven and University traffic problems. This is your chance to have your say and make your views known  before the scheme is finalised and implemented. You still have time to get in touch and make sure that your views are fully taken into consideration and you understand the implications of this Residents Parking Scheme will have on your street!
